We were born so that the food of Africa has a place on every table in the world.
It all started with a longing: the longing for a taste of home when home is far away.
Louise and Justine Basse were born in Senegal and grew up in Murcia. Like many Africans living far from home, they know what it feels like to long for a familiar taste: their mother’s cooking and the recipes that bring families together around the table.
In 2020, that longing became a purpose. Louise founded Mom Koumba with one simple yet ambitious idea: no one should have to give up the authentic taste of Africa, no matter where they live.
That’s why we bring the authentic flavours of an entire continent to your table. Part of every purchase goes back to Africa through partnerships with NGOs in the country where each recipe originates. Because true pride is about giving back.
This is more than a brand. It’s Africa at your table.

Born in Senegal and raised in Murcia, Louise had the idea to bring traditional African sauces to Europe, especially to people of African descent who live far from home. Today Mom Koumba leads.
"I grew up far from my land, but never far from its flavor. This is my way of giving it back to everyone who feels the same way."

Louise’s sister, born in Senegal and living in Europe since the age of 12. She is the voice of Mom Koumba in France and one of the two sisters who started it all.
"I was born in Senegal and grew up in Europe. Mom Koumba is where both worlds come together."
To introduce African cuisine to the world and break the stereotypes that still surround an entire continent.
We develop food and beverages in Spain, following European quality standards and using authentic African ingredients. The best of both worlds in every product.
Food safety, authenticity and deep respect for African culture. These are the three ingredients at the heart of everything we do.
All of Africa, at your table. Behind every recipe are two sisters who started it all and an entire continent that continues to inspire them.
